About Artificial Microfiber Synthetic Suede Leather

Suede (ji pi rong) is a fabric made from the suede of animals.

In the fabric market, suede has become the common name for a variety of imitation leather fleece. These include denim suede, warp suede (cloth-backed suede), weft suede (satin suede), warp knitted suede, double-sided suede and stretch suede.

There are two types of suede, natural and artificial, and the one mentioned here refers exclusively to artificial imitation suede. Suede-like fabrics are textile fabrics with a special style that are made using special textile materials and with special dyeing and finishing processes, and are currently one of the more popular high-end fabrics in the domestic market. The feel and appearance of imitation suede is quite similar to natural suede, its surface pattern structure is also similar to natural suede, after special finishing, fine and flat, soft and plump, more durable than natural suede, also more easy to maintain.

Suede fabric has many properties not less than natural suede, there are many properties even better than natural suede, such as its fabric feel soft, glutinous, good drapability, light texture.

Suede leather production steps:

1. Coated with polyurethane on a flexible island suede base fabric.

2. The drying and shaping with a drying and shaping machine.

3. Brushing to make suede leather. The base fabric used in the first step is a PTT/PET island suede with PTT as the island component. The polyurethane coating process described is the impregnation of the base fabric in an impregnation bath containing an aqueous polyurethane dispersion. As the base fabric is impregnated with water-based polyurethane, the impregnation is directly followed by drying in a drying and shaping machine, which eliminates the coagulation and washing processes and reduces manufacturing costs compared to the original process, and eliminates a large amount of organic solvents and greatly reduces pollution. The base fabric chosen is a suede fabric made from island fibers with PTT (polyethylene terephthalate) as the island component, which has good stretch and elasticity compared to suede fabrics made from island fibers with polyester or nylon as the island component.

Cleaning methods for suede leather:

If the suede is dusty or dripping with oil, you should first wipe the dust off the surface with a dry cloth, and then wipe the surface with a soft cloth (be careful not to use too much force, it should be gently wiped (if you really can’t wipe it off you can try a senior shoe powder, the kind with small particles). Then use a special rubber brush to smooth out the hairs on the suede in one direction, as the hairs of the suede will only give the whole leather an even and uniform colour when they are in the same direction.
